Saturday

Well, Saturday was spent in the Isle of Wight with dad, uncle David, his daughter Gemma and my sister. We went to visit my grandpa in hospital, as he's really ill. He's got leukemia, which affects your immune system. So basically, he's going to die of it.

He's leaving hospital soon, and is going back to my aunt Carol's house where he lives with her and uncle Keith. Typically of him, he's worried about the fuss that everyone's making about him, and is concerned for Carol and Keith, as he can't even go to the toilet by himself right now.

The visiting hours in the hospital are ludicrously short; from 2 to 3, and then from 7 to 8. We all went together (inc. Carol) at 2, and he's so pale. Seriously, like, Edward Cullen pale. And before he had like a permanent tan, as he used to work plotting the land in Zambia, back when it was known as Northern Rhodesia.

The ferry we were meant to catch was at 7:30, but it was delayed to 8:30, so we went back to the hospital for a brief visit. He was so weak, and kept on almost nodding off. It was actually scary. However according to dad and uncle David, this is better than he was before.

Speaking of ferries, both were nightmares. On the way over it was completely packed; we had to stand up the whole time. Everyone's going over for the half term, I guess. The ferry back, although much emptier, was also much worse. There was a group of what appeared to be drunk people sitting somewhere behind us, shouting and cussing at the tops of their voices, and occasionally even breaking into very off-tune song. We at first assumed that they were boys in their late teens/early twenties, but they weren't. They actually looked to be in their late 40s/early 50s. So basically, people of the same age as my uncle and dad. Good to know people can grow old maturely. They were actually scaring my sister, who's nine. She was all huddled up on the seat, and wincing slightly whenever they shouted loud...er than usual.

First exam

Well, RE #1 is done and out of the way. It was somewhat easier than I expected, which was a relief - guess the revision paid off after all! There was a slight distraction in the hall due to a blackbird that managed to fly in somehow. Thankfully, it just stayed up near the ceiling the whole time, and didn't need the toilet.

Nice break now, as the next exam's on Friday. Then we've got four next week, physics and s.i.s. on the same day!! Lucky s.i.s. isn't reviseable, or I'd be in trouble. The other two are maths and english. Maths'll be okay, but I hate, hate, hate english exams. Wish me luck, internet!

My dear friend Katy is being exceptionally annoying lately. Not only did she NOT burn the school library down (inside joke), but she also put a photo of MY BACKSIDE on FACEBOOK. AND she spelt my surname wrong. On purpose. One G! ONE G!!

But besides from that, today has been pretty cool. Manhunt is THE best way to spend a P.E. lesson, and stalking Baldykins with a camera is more fun than it should be. I have photos of lots of cool people, and will aim to get even more tommorow.

Ah, tomorrow. It's my last proper day in secondary school, and while the fact that I have no more English lessons, EVER, is really very exciting, it's also rather scary. I'm going to a different college from all my friends, who are mainly going to the same one together. While my obvious first fear is that I'm going to miss all my friends terribly, and be unable to make new ones at Hurst (I mean, it took me five years to make friends at Millais), I'm also quite concerned that they'll make new friends and replace the little oddball that is me...

But anyway, enough of the depressing. All my new friends at Hurst will be super special awesome, so Pththththth to you silly Collyers' sixth formers.

Now, back to plotting my revenge on Katy... lol, jk, I've already planned it.
